I Want a Job For Daddy

Mommy did a very strange thing the other day. She took me to meet this man with a big white beard who called me a "ho" and asked me what I wanted for chris-muss. He seems nice. He promised to bring me some nice toys. I like toys.

Where's Abby?

I've discovered a new game! If I put the blanket over my face, mommy and daddy disappear! But when I pull it away, they're back! (I have no idea why this makes Daddy sound like he's been huffing helium, but there you go.)

You Should See The Other Guy

I had a disagreement with a container of prunes.

Abby the Babby

I've learned something really cool. If I twist my body just right, I can roll over onto my front! I'm trying to move around by slithering on the ground, but it isn't very productive yet. I wonder if my arms and legs could be useful for turning me into a mobile menace.

Nicknames

So far, I've gotten an amazing number of nicknames. Feel free to use them when you meet me.

Daddy calls be Abby the Babby, Abigigglegail, Babigail, babblegail and the abble of his eye.

Uncle Steve calls me Babs and Babster.

Mommy calls me Sweet Pea.

Grandpa Don calls me Abu Dhabi, Possum II and Little Old Abby from Pasadena.

And if ever spew prunes all over mommy again, my name will be mud.

Abby Eats

I love food! I especially like it when Dad feeds me.

Gigglepants

This is a couple of months old. It's daddy playing with me. We have so much fun. I love to giggle.

Midnights With Daddy

Being so cute is thirsty work. I often wake up at about 4am or so to feed. Usually Daddy will change me and keep me company while mommy heats up a bottle.

All Wrapped Up

This is what I look like after my bath. Daddy wants me to dress this way when I get older and prettier.
This is my favorite toys. It's got lots of things I can move around and bang my fists at. I can pretend to stand and walk. I can bounced up and down -- I love bouncing up and down. Toys are fun! I can't wait until I'm older and can play all day long.

Bedtime For Babby

I have a new bed! All of my grandparents had some people far far away make it for me. It's so wonderful. I can't tell you how well I sleep knowing that I'm within something so expensive.

Toys!

The best thing about my parents having me so late in life is that people I don't know give me all kinds of presents. I love toys. They're delicious.

I'm a Big Girl

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time, but I've been so busy growing! I eat and eat and I kick my legs a lot to try to grow so fast. Here's a picture of me a month and a half ago and one today. Look how big I'm getting!

Happy Halloween

Daddy always calls me his "little pumpkin". I'm not sure what he means when he says he's going to make a pie out of me, but it sounds like fun!

Australia Bound!

Grandpa Don tells me that he's finally figure out a way for me to go to Australia! I think TSA might not let me through since I have more than 3.5 oz of liquid inside me -- mostly oozing from my mouth. But I can't wait to see koalas and kangaroos. Daddy thinks I'm a wombat. I'm not supposed to go near dingos, though.

Eating

Boy are my parents strange. Today they put me in the high chair and shoved rice cereal into my mouth. It was so weird. Most of it ended up on my face but I did figure out how to chew and swallow. I wonder if this will ever be useful to me?

Afternoons with the Grandparents

Grandpa Don and Grandma Pat are taking care of me in the afternoons. It's fun, even if I miss Mommy and Dady while they're working. The good news is that Daddy often works just upstairs, so he'll come down on breaks to play with his Babby.

Surprise!

I'm postiing again. It's a nice sunny day here in Texas -- or Babbyland as I call it. Right now, I'm watching Uncle Chris's team on TV. TV is so strange. How do all those people get inside that little box? And why, when one of them drops a ball, does Daddy say funny words?

I Have Feet!

It's a pity you can't hear the sound of me laughing and giggling. I've discovered the FUNNIEST things on the end of my body!

Toys!

Daddy gave me some toys this week. A couple of rattles and a teething ring. I'm still figuring out which ones I can stick in my mouth -- this rattle wouldn't quite fit. But they make so much noise when I shake them! And I just know one day I can leave them on the stairs and daddy will get to go see a doctor of his own.

Cousin Claire!

I discoverd something facinating this week! I am not the only babby in the world! Another babby, named Claire, was brought just to see me. I'm so happy to already have friends when I'm not even four months old.

TV Time

In many rooms of my house, there are these big shiny boxes with moving pictures on them. I find them really fascinating, although mommy and daddy don't want me to spend any time looking at them. But at least daddy finds me more entertaining than the bright blue box.

Sundays With Daddy

Daddy likes spending time with me on weekends. I don't understand everything he's doing, though. A lot of it involves yelling at machines.

From Australia

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but things here have been so exciting. My other grandparents came to visit. I don't really understand but Daddy says they are from the other side of the world. That's just silly but I do like spending time with them.

Hook 'em Horns!

Daddy's a bulldogs fan and mommy doesn't care. But I've got my UT colors and I'm making the longhorn symbol with my hands. Hopefully, that will help them in this weekend's opening tilt against might Arkansas State. They're only favored by 40 points!

Daddy's a little worried, though. If I go to UT, I may get hit on by drunken boys. Especially as I'm so pretty. Does anyone know what a "burkha" is? Daddy keeps saying I get to wear one to college.

Laundry Day

Tee hee! Laundry hampers are funny. Plus they smell like me!

The Sleep of the Innocent

Sleep is so much fun. it comes so easily to me and I sleep so soundly. I don't have any of the worries mommy and daddy seem to have.

All Night Long!

Last night, I slept for a very long time. From 9 pm to 6 am. I enjoyed it so much, I took another nap today. Mommy and daddy seemed to get really excited about me sleeping through the night. It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm stull just a babby.

Sitting Up

I like sitting up. I can't do it on my own yet. But with a little help from daddy or this lovely chair, I can do it. It makes it far easier to play around. The opportunities for mischief abound!

Bath-Time!

I get a bath every night at 7 pm as part of getting me ready for bed. I love bath time! I never cry!

My Future's So Bright

Daddy makes me wear shades. Actually, it's Texas that's so bright. 99 degrees? With humidity? I may just be a babby but even I know that's HOT!

The Thinker

I like to think a lot. There's so much to think about when the world is new to you. Daddy looks into my eyes and can see I'm puzzling things out, trying to figure out basic things like what hungry means and when I need to sleep and whether I'm going to wake up at 3 am or 4 am or why his faces are so funny. Of course, i do my best thinking when I'm asleep.

Breaking The Silence

Wow, I haven't posted in a long time! But I've been so busy discovering all kinds of new things. For example, my daddy can talk! When I sit on his belly and make squeaky cooing noises, he makes squeaky cooing noises back. I'm so proud of daddy, already able to talk at his age.

Incidentally, blogger has an RSS feed. If you're using Safari, click the RSS tab and your browser will tell you when this blog is updated. If you're not . . . if you're using IE or somesuch . . . well, you're not as smart as a two-month old babby.

Parent Pillows

I like sleeping on daddy's chest. So much that I'll sometimes poop! But I still think that mommy makes the best pillow.

Tummy Time

I like lying on my belly. I've almost figured out how to roll over onto it. One of the things daddy like to do is to lie down, put me on his chest and poke me in the belly while saying, "Tubby Tummy!" He should talk. I enjoy it and show by cooing, waving my arms around and pooping. One day when I'm 16, he'll remind me of when I used to enjoy the simple pleasures of playing Tubby Tummy.

Friday Nights

Friday nights are a fun time in my house. We do some things with candles, get takeout pizza and watch TV. Well, mommy and daddy do that. I mostly sleep.

Daddy's Daddy

Loves his Babby!

The Best Cradle in the World

Is my mommy's arms.

I Enjoy Being a Girl!

I have so many nice clothes to wear. I think if I were a boy, daddy would be happy just letting me run around in a diaper. But sometimes mommy and I disagree on what's best for today.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

I like to fall asleep on my side. I can now roll over a little bit when I'm not swaddled too tightly. If daddy puts me on my side, I go to sleep instantly. Putting me to sleep on my back is an hours-long struggle. I guess this goes against the quasi-religion of putting babies on their backs, but I roll over anyway once I'm asleep.

I've also started giggling in my sleep since I have the *funniest* dreams.

Daddy likes to play with me because i'm a bouncy babby.

Sleepy Time

LIke most babbies, I sleep 15 hours a day. Mommy and daddy just wish it were fifteen hours in a row rather than 30 half hours spread throughout.

Swinging

Mommy and daddy bought me a swing. It helps me sleep. It plays music and monkeys circle over my head. I love it. So do mommy and daddy, because it makes me sleep when I'm being a fussypants.

New Discoveries

One of the cool things about being a babby is that i get to discover things for the first time that adults have known so long they've forgotten when they learned them.

For example, today I discovered that it hurts when you grab your own hair and pull as hard as your puny little baby arms can.

$$$ >=-=< Poop

One of the things I am very good at is turning money into poop. Daddy says it would be so much easier if he just put cash in one end of me and let the results . . . lots and lots and LOTS of results . . . come out the other.

Sleepy

I wish I could blog more often. But I'm just a baby. I need my sleep and so do mommy and daddy. Plus, I have a rash this week and am a little camera-shy until it goes away.

Good Mommy

Mommy is doing very well. Her belly feels good and she's lost twenty pounds. I take all the credit.

Named

I was in a synagogue for the very first time on Thursday so I could be named and stuff. I enjoyed the ceremony so much, I pooped! Twice!
